Third & Fourth Graders Performed Native Dancing For the School
Kids have been learning about Alaska native people and their cultures.
The kids wore their kuspuks and paraded through darkened classrooms with their handmade seal oil lamps. They performed native dances and demonstrated Native Youth Olympic sports such as seal hop and stick pull.
This is an example of integrated, thematic instruction. It's a collaborative effort to support the kids's Native theme study. This is and example of teachers working with our music, art and PE teachers.
